The ancient Temple of Ira (Pythagoreio region)

It is located about 4 kilometres outside Pythagoreio, and you can go there by car.
The cave of Pythagoras (Marathokampos region)
This Cave, which is found in foot of Kerkis, constitutes the point to which Pythagoras resorted when he was persecuted the tyrant Polykratis with the accusation of corrupting young persons. An other more romantic version of the story is that this cave was used by Pythagoras as place of meditation.
It is located 3 kilometres from Marathokampos. Can go there there via plain Marathokampos, then keep going with your car (2-3 kilometres dirt-road) and then walk about 200 metres in very steep sides.
Eypalineio or Amphistomous orygma (region Pythagoreio)
Constructed during the reing of Polykratis, at about 550 B.C., Eypalineio orygma constitutes a unique monument of prowess and knowledge Ancient Greeks had in contruction. It is found in the current vicinity of Virgin Mary of Spilianis, in the mountain, and was named after its original creator, Megariti Eypalino that was been famous in the ancient world for his construction skills. Herodotos cites the work of samians in his works.
Eypalineio orygma is a tunnel with length 853 metres and diameter so big that a person fits within. Goes down 80 metres under the surface of ground. Was built to facilitate transportation of water, along with it existed earthen pipes that shaped a network and penetrated entire the mountain the height of which is 246 metres.
This tunnel still impresses us because it was manufactured by two teams of workers. The one worked in the northern side, near to the current village of Mytilinioys and the other in the southern side, near to Pythagorio. Impression causes the fact that with the construction means that were in their disposal, they managed to make precise calculations so as to they are met in half the way with exceptional precision!
Despite the distance that separated them and the fact that they dug the mountain, they could calculate with detail to that would be directed! Today is saved a big department of conductors and is accessible to visitors. Locally the pass of time created stalactites that make the spectacle still more impressive. It is remarkable to know that that the Orygma was ignored until discovered by the abbot of Saint Trinity Cyrille, in 1881.
Located about 2 Km from the Pythagorio, the trip to Orygma is possible by car or on foot.
Ormos Marathokampou
Ormos Marathokampou is found in the south-western side of island of Samos, in the foothill of mountain Kerkis and overlooking in Aegean Sea. In distance of 30 km we find the airport of Samos and in 40 km we find the capital of island Vathi.
Ormos Marathokampou is one small graphic traditional small port embelished with traditional boats, where various holiday ships they give the chance in visitor it enjoy virgin beaches not accessible by other means, small islets, the holy island of Patmos, the Fournoi islands, and Ikaria. There is also the opportunity to travel to Turkey, in Koysantasi in order to visit ancient Efesos.

During the night there is little circulation of cars or motorcycles in the coastal street of village.
